A Different Way Of Performing Pilaities

You are probably already aware of the exercise phenomenon that has taken the world by storm, pilates. It’s a program that hasn’t changed much since it’s inception in the early 1900s when Joseph Pilates first arranged the exercise patterns in order to help increase the fitness of those in the internment camp that he was in during the first World War.

There are many different experts in the field of pilates that offer small changes to the program in order to accentuate certain parts of the exercise, and there are more and more devices and techniques being devised in order to help innovate the program. In this article, we’ll take a look at a newfound development that may be of use to those who are interested in keeping on a pilates routine.

The idea is a simple one, and it’s one that is being used in many different types of exercise programs aside from pilates. It stems from the use of technology in order to more accurately allow someone to perform specific techniques of exercise. Through the use of headphones and iPods, instructors around the world have been able to more efficiently relay their exercise instructions while saving them trouble.

By using MP3s to record the basics of a pilates workout, instructors can give their students the instructions for proper technique without having to expend their voices. Since some pilates instructors are under heavy pressure to perform, teaching as many as ten hours of class per day, any assistance to their program can be a godsend. It’s a simple innovation that has not been exploited to the degree of helpfulness that it offers.

For those who are unfamiliar with the pilates program, it’s a type of exercise that offers the participator a greater body awareness, an increase in the strength of the core muscles and an aided sense of balance.

The program achieves these goals through the use of slow, fluid movements. It can be very daunting to learn the entire pilates program, as it consists of hundreds of different exercises. For that reason, it can be difficult to get the full pilates workout without having an instructor present. This newfound use of technology allows students a better opportunity to be able to work their craft without the presence of an instructor. In an exercise program where the instructor is required to repeat the same instructions over and over again, day in and day out, the relief offered by the use of MP3s is tantamount to the instructor’s efficiency.

The idea has caught on in a big way, and there are now numerous websites that offer audio downloads of various exercise programs that are heavy on the instructions, with programs such as pilates and yoga being more easily accessible to those who wouldn’t normally get the opportunity to have hands-on instruction. It’s not to say that the audio downloads are a surefire replacement for pilates instruction, as proper form is crucial to reaping the proper benefits of the program.

For that reason, you may want to combine both home audio programs and regular instruction from a pilates instructor to ensure that your form is proper.
